I'm interested in refinishing some Teak tables, trouble is...I don't know where to start. There are a few surface water stains and some minor scratches on them. Any tips on prepping the wood before staining?
I'd like to keep them the same shade/colour they are now. With all the different types of stains out there, how do I choose one?

I don't want them to end up with a "rookie" finish.
Any suggestions?

Signed,

I believe teak is a wood that you do not stain, but rather you simply apply an oil of some kind. The natural color of teak is it's signature, and when building something in teak, you would want to accentuate the natural beauty of the teak itself. To color it by using stain is defeating the purpose, and is nothing short of blasphemy. Follow this link for info on Teak oil....
