I just had a request from a guy on my website that wants an intarsia Harley in a shadow box. Since I've never done any intarsia stuff it could be "interesting" Cheers

I was at a woodworking show, and this guy had a booth displaying his intarsia work, and it was amazing how nice it looked. Not only did he use different color woods, but the way they were of different elevations and such throughout the work, really gave them a quality. I think his website is here. (http://www.sawbird.com) The pictures really don't do them justice.
If you can, you should post some pictures here as you go, and let us all see how you make out. Good luck, and have fun.

intarsia ia an artform inwhich several species of wood are cur and shaped and formed together in order to make a reconizable 3-D picture... in my case a Harley, but can be as simple as a duck or teddy bear.

I've always wanted to try intarsia, but don't have a scroll saw. Figure mine would come out looking like some cheap looking garage-sale-fodder. Don't forget to show us some pictures so that we can mock you. ;)

intarsias are fun making. I've made just a few SMALL ones and liked the result but there is a lot of scroll work involved. Jim
